Plaquenil Testing

Plaquenil, also known as hydroxychloroquine, is often used to treat conditions such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. This medication can cause damage to the retina. Therefore, rheumatologists, primary care physicians and/or dermatologists normally recommend a special eye examination to rule out toxicity. This is not a routine examination and requires special testing, which can be performed in our office.
